As most of you know I’ve expanded from just doing weddings and engagement sessions to taking on lifestyle newborn photography in Fredericksburg, Va too! I’ve actually fallen head over heels in love with it just like I did weddings all those years ago. I love seeing my clients gorgeously decorated nurseries and getting to capture their little one in the crib they’ve picked out. Plus there is just something so special about capturing a new mom rocking her little one to sleep in the rocking chair her mother rocked her to sleep in!
I was so excited when Anna booked me last fall for her newborn session, getting your baby photographer booked early takes the stress of you as you get closer to your due date. Plus you can get to know them a bit more through social media so when the big day comes you feel like old friends! I recommend booking your newborn photos when you are around 24-30 weeks in your pregnancy.
I have a strong love for home decor and design hence my HGTV obsession, so when I arrived at Anna & Dustin’s home I was immediately charmed by their slate roof and gas lanterns on the front porch. That had nothing on the inside though where Anna & Dustin have done an AMAZING job renovating and decorating and it gave me all the ????! As soon as I saw the master bedroom I knew we were doing the session in there because it had the most beautiful light and the best decor.
Big Brother M was the cutest and adored his little sister! He was so gentle with her and happy to give her kisses and count her toes for me. I don’t think she has to worry about anyone bothering her when he is around! I was so impressed by what a pro Anna already was with balancing 2 kids, I loved capturing her rocking Miss M while Big Brother M raced cars around and on her.
One of my favorite things about lifestyle newborn photography is how comfortable my clients feel since we are in their own home! I love to get them all to pile on the bed pets included for a great family photo, sometimes it can be chaotic but there is such beauty and realness in that chaos. Having little ones means constantly living in a state of chaos, lol!
