As I mentioned in a previous blog post where I highlight the ins and outs of a lifestyle newborn session, I find that families are wanting to document this chapter of life in the beautiful nursery they’ve prepared for their new addition to the family, which is great! But, can also feel daunting, understandably.
Questions to consider in your newborn photographer search
What kind of posing are you looking for? Do you prefer formal, posed images for your family portraits? Or are you more interested in a relaxed lifestyle photoshoot?
Does the photographer share newborn lifestyle photos on their social media and website? If not, chances are, they don’t offer in home photo shoots or aren’t experienced in it. Experience levels can double a session time, fast.
Do you have natural light in the rooms you’re hoping to use? The photographer you reach out to should inquire on the lighting situation in the home. They should also be able to work with any lighting situation to give you beautiful natural looking photos. Often I work in home with not so great lighting but I can still make it look magical and just like window light!
Does the idea of wardrobe overwhelm you? If so, does the photographer mention anything on their website about providing wardrobe style guides for clients?
