Boca Raton Newborn Photography

When my clients are looking for Boca Raton newborn photography with a lifestyle approach I often hear that they want a session in their home to show off their beautiful nursery. They want to include the family pet and they want me to capture their joy at being new parents. These are all the reasons I love doing lifestyle newborn sessions with no crazy poses or props. Just a brand new little family in the place that they love.

At Home Lifestyle Newborn Session

I just adored working with Stacey & Andrew at their indoor lifestyle maternity session back in January. They were just the sweetest and their home was AMAZING!!! I joked around that I needed to rent their living room as a studio space because the light was so good in there. So when it was time for their newborn session I was excited to see them again, now as parents!

Preparing for your Boca Raton newborn photography session

Their baby girl was just gorgeous and she was such a champ for her session. Her parents followed my tips email I like to send before each session so she slept perfectly for her photos. Even if she had woken up that would have been fine, I love getting photos of babies awake too!

What to wear in your newborn photos

Stacey looked amazing in her dress and we were both thrilled when she said it had POCKETS!! Nothing makes a girl happier than a dress with pockets! If you aren’t sure what to wear for your newborn session I send all my clients a Portrait Planning Guide with tips and advice. Plus you can check out my Pinterest board Newborn Photoshoot What to Wear to get inspired. Dad’s can usually get away with nice jeans and a button down with the sleeves rolled up. This give them that casual yet put together look! I always recommend keeping the colors soft or neutral.

I love when clients shop local and support other small businesses! So here are a few great options to find beautiful dresses for your session. Etiquette Boutique is located in the Whole Food plaza but you can also shop their Instagram at etiquetteboutiques. Not a small business but Francesca’s at the Town Center at Boca Raton can be a good spot to find long flowy dresses at affordable prices.

Decorating the nursery for your at home baby session

I totally get that not everyone has a knack for interior design and decorating, that is where Pinterest comes in! I love taking my favorite photos of all the different nurseries I photograph and adding them to my Nursery Inspiration Pinterest board to inspire others!

If you are the type that prefers to leave decorating to the professionals you are in luck because there are several fabulous interior designers in Boca Raton. What to Expect at your lifestyle newborn session

So many of my clients tell me they have no idea what to do in front of the camera and they are worried they “won’t look as good as the people on my website”. That is a direct quote from at least 5 past clients who are in fact now on my website! I always tell them that I’m going to give you easy directions and really they all revolve around staring adoringly at your brand new baby. It’s super simple!

I don’t expect my clients to be models. I want to capture them authentically being joyful and happy at their new little family in their own home. We will recreate things you will normally do with your baby like rocking in a glider but for photos you get to be dressed up and look extra pretty! So don’t worry if you have no idea how to pose in front of the camera. I will walk you through it every step of the way!

I had so much fun recreating some of the photos we did at their maternity session but this time with their beautiful daughter in their arms.
