It’s my birthday week and to celebrate I’ve got a new website!!! I had lots of plans to do a big reveal and giveaways but let’t get real for a moment, things don’t always go as planned. Like when I realized due to a glitch last week that my new site was actually live and it was a hot mess of old and new. Of course I figured this out about 20 min before I had to pickup the kids from school. Cue panic and freakout mode!
At that moment though I decided #$%# it and just left it live for the world to see with all of it’s flaws. I spent that 20 minutes cleaning up the parts that were the old site and making sure the important stuff worked. Which leads me to supporting the statement “Done is better than perfect”. Because it’s not perfect yet and frankly it never will be. It’s not completely done yet either but I gave myself until my birthday to iron out the kinks and I’ve still got 5 days to go :). What it is though is a beautifully imperfect representation of me!
So that project you’ve been trying to perfect and you think it’s just not ready yet, hit the go button and be proud of what you’ve created instead of focusing on the flaws! I’m not saying you can’t try to perfect it after you’ve launched but if you wait till it’s perfect to show it off you might find yourself never finishing. And to be honest how many times have we said yes this is done and perfect only to figure out a flaw later one, you know it’s going to happen! Life is full of beautiful flaws and the more we let go of perfection the happier we will be!
