So with it being the slow season for weddings and portraits I’m taking some time to update my website and blog. I’m in the mood to simplify and have one place for everyone to come to and check out my work. Yes you read that right, ONE place! Currently I have 4 sites if you include the mobile site I have for my wedding work. So you can imagine that with 4 sites to keep updated it just doesn’t happen. Frankly my portfolio websites have been neglected for awhile so dropping that off my plate would be so nice! Really my websites are just fancy flash galleries of my photographs, but guess what?!?!? I can put fancy flash galleries here on my blog!!! Yes this is another reason why I love wordpress and my ProPhoto blog!!
If you are reading this blog post and don’t know what I”m talking about click on the Home button in the menu bar to see the changes! You’ll notice now that the home page is a slideshow of some of my favorite images showcasing different aspects of my work. I wanted to keep the clean feeling of a portfolio site and focus on the images. Now though when you click over to the blog home you aren’t taken to a whole new site! I’ve also highlighted some of the frequently viewed categories of my posts so if you are looking for wedding posts you can click on weddings on the drop down and see all my wedding related posts! If you are a new client you can check out my bio, look over examples of my work in the new portfolio section and get to know more about me through my blog posts. I hope that after visiting my site you will feel like you know me and when you hire me it will be like we are old friends!!
I’m still tweaking things but considering I started this about 10am this morning and it is going on midnight I think I got quite a lot accomplished in one day! Pretty soon when you type in any of my current website addresses you will end up here at my lovely blog which is now real live blogsite! Website + Blog = blogsite!! I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve with my blogsite but you might have noticed the image voting buttons in my blog posts where you can vote for your favorites! I’m so excited about that feature and I’ll be incorporating that into some new ideas soon! I have to say I’m not sad at all to drop my current portfolio sites and lose my ugly splash page!
I just hope with the way the changes are right now I haven’t broken all my RSS Feeds and stuff! I might have to tweak that tomorrow but for now it is off to bed for some sleepy time.
