Have you ever been working on something for a long time but just not getting it where you want it exactly? Yep that is exactly how I’ve been feeling about redesigning my website. I started off with blank sheets of paper and hand drawn ideas of what I wanted, ways I wanted my site to be more useful. It meant building a lot of back-end content and of course I wanted it to be perfect. The other week I saw a quote from Lara Casey regarding the new Southern Weddings website she and her team were working on. I’m paraphrasing because I can’t find the exact posting but it was along the lines of “Done is not perfect”. That my friends was like a weight lifting off my chest. I wanted to grow my business even more with a new website but what I actually did was procrastinate and hold off on any updates to the old site while I tried to make it perfect which probably set me back in my business. So today with no fanfare I’m launching what I’ve got, it’s not perfect, it’s certainly not done but I’m back and that is what is most important! I’ve talked about hiring a designer in the past and I’m thinking 2014 will probably be the year for that. In the meantime though I’m happy to have a new look that is more clean and modern! I’m also excited to start sharing all the weddings and portraits I’ve been shooting this fall. So many beautiful stories and images that I can’t wait to show you. In the meantime here are our personal Christmas card photos for 2013! We took these the other week while Christmas tree shopping, I’m pretty impressed that it only took 3 takes with the camera on a tripod and me running back and forth to get a good family shot! Will is 14 months now and I’m 36 weeks along in this pregnancy so it will be fun to look back at these photos in a couple years.
