It still amazes me how small they are when they arrive. These tiny perfect humans with 10 fingers and 10 toes. They curl up so easily and just melt into you and you just melt around them. Before I became a mom they made me so nervous, I didn’t know what to do and I was afraid I would accidentally hurt them. I remember holding a friends baby and she was throwing her head around and I thought for sure she would break her tiny neck. She was fine of course but I was a nervous wreck!
I’ve gotten a lot of questions on whether I photograph newborns or not and the answer is yes I do! I expect to be photographing a lot more too as I have so many friends and brides that are expecting new babies. I can’t wait, they grow so quickly and I love capturing those moments with mom and dad when they are so new and tiny.
When I arrived at Melissa and Kyle’s house I was greeted by Melissa holding the tiniest baby I had seen in person, Miss Mira was so tiny and weighing less than 6lbs if I remember correctly. She was beautiful! I know it was total love at first sight for Melissa and Kyle. It made me remember how full of love David and I felt when Will was born!
I loved this session because it was so relaxed and laid back, Mira was the perfect sleeper and let us get some adorable photos of her. My favorite images are the ones of Melissa and Kyle just holding her and marveling at this tiny little baby they created! I swear you can just feel the love popping out of the image.
