I logged into Facebook this morning to find out this beautiful momma had her baby!!!! I’m so excited for Shelby and Jon to be snuggling their beautiful little girl and soaking up those first amazing moments.
I first met Jon and Shelby when they hired me to do portraits of them before the Marine Corp Ball last year. What I didn’t know when I was photographing them at that time was they had just found out that day that Shelby was PREGNANT!!!! I wondered what magic was happening between them that day and now I know. There is something so special about those first days when you find out you are pregnant after trying for awhile, the love you have for each other just cannot be contained!
So when Shelby shared the news with me in later weeks and wanted me to do their maternity and newborn photos I was elated! We exchanged planning emails on locations, what to wear and what colors would be best for her dress and the balloons. It was so much fun! Of course when the session day came in June it was so hot it was ridiculous, but we waited till closer to sunset and I told Shelby I’d have them in the water for some of the session to help cool off. It was perfect!
Jon was a trooper moving balloons around in the sand so they were in just the right spot for the photos. I love watching dads to be and seeing how protective and loving they are over their pregnant wives. He is going to be such a good dad because I can see how much he loves Shelby and I know he will show that same love and attention to his little girl!
