What inspires you when putting together a nursery design for a client?
My inspiration always comes from my client needs, I am inspired by their love and desire for uniquely curated spaces.
A lot of the prep work begins with listening, just like a new mom will learn to listen to all the baby cues, our ears are wide open to hearing our client’s feedback to work together and create a beautiful and functional nursery.
In the early stages of our process, we ask a lot of questions, things like what your must haves are, dislikes, and of course references are always helpful, our ultimate goal is for you to love every space in your home.
As a mom, I am inspired by the memory of all the special and difficult moments I shared with my daughter in her nursery, therefore it is one of my favorite spaces to design, because I know how special it is to be a mom!

How do you combine beauty and function in a nursery?
Beauty is very subjective to the eye, function on the other hand is tangible to all. The best way to combine both is by creating cohesive spaces that tell a story. Naturally when we design a nursery, we think of the family’s needs and lifestyle, meaning that we plan with a purpose and begin by creating a space plan of the room, then we add the smaller features like décor, end tables, lamps, and toys. This way we allow form to follow the rooms’ function, rounding it out with special touches and a beautiful aesthetic.

Is there anything you consider a must have design wise in a nursery?
Storage! Tons of storage, people usually don’t think of storage as a must have, but babies come with a lot of stuff for every stage and for a multitude of needs. I love designing nurseries that have intentional storage options, things like baskets, bookshelves, toy boxes are always part of my designs, I also love to use regular size dressers that can grow with the family. Also, the right lighting. Dimmers and a small table lamp are key when designing a nursery ????.

What has been your favorite nursery or kid’s room project to date?
This is a difficult question, I honestly love them all, each project and client are special in their own way. From the bold themed kids’ rooms to the soft baby hues for first time parents.
One of our latest kid rooms allowed us to have fun and explore into an all-time favorite dinosaur theme! For this design I went back to my own childhood and remember how fun it was to have a bunk bed, and to make things even better we added a teepee for a reading nook, sparking creativity and the love for books is something I love to do for every kid space.
