“It’s Adam not Matt”, I felt my face flush as he gently corrected me with a smile. It’s every photographers nightmare, calling your clients the wrong name. Sometimes on my way to sessions I’ll say their names over and over to stop myself from calling them the wrong names. I asked him if I had been calling him the wrong name the whole time and he said no just the last couple times. Thank goodness for small miracles there I thought :). I had to think back and figure out where Matt even came from and I realized it was from a session I had shot two weeks earlier. I was pregnant so of course I blamed pregnancy brain for my goof! Adam was such a gentleman though, he didn’t get annoyed he just laughed and reminded me what his name really was.
I knew from my first phone chat with Cate and Adam that they were going to be a fun sweet couple to work with and after their engagement session I was even more excited for their wedding! As I’m catching up on blogging you get to see their engagement session today and then come back Thursday for the wedding photos!! Cate and Adam wanted to have their engagement session at the same location as the wedding The Inn at Willow Grove. I thought this was a great idea since the Inn has so many spots for beautiful photos I knew we wouldn’t be repeating ourselves on the wedding day. Looking through these images again I realize we didn’t shoot at any of the same spots on the wedding day so Cate and Adam have images that span almost the whole grounds of the Inn.
We lucked out and had a gorgeous fall day for their engagement photos. The leaves were turning and just starting to fall and there was that wonderful crispness to the air. Cate and Adam met in college at George Mason University, they started off as friends but quickly realized their feelings were stronger then just friendship. A first date spent talking over drinks and dinner before a show is still a vivid memory for them both and now 8 years later they are husband and wife. PS- Adam I had another engagement session after you wedding and the groom to be is named Matt, guess what I called him? Yep I called him Adam! I swear this is not a regular occurrence :).
