There are many different trends in ceremony aisle décor. Whether you are having a classically elegant or romantic rustic wedding, there are many ways for you to decorate. Between the color and the theme, this will help you narrow down your options and help you decide what will look good. The important part of decorating the aisle is to make sure that it looks beautiful and classy. Since you have a color palette that you are working, this will help make it less overwhelming.
Flowers
Flowers are always a classic for the wedding day. There are many arrangements and ways that you can decorate with flowers. Depending on your style, you can have them hang from the chairs for each aisle tied with ribbon. Another way is to have hanging jars for a more rustic look.
I think rose petals sprinkled down the aisle are always a classic, I love seeing the updated trend of lining the sides of the aisle with thick piles of petals. Last year one of our local amazing florists in Fredericksburg, Va put the petals in the shape of the couples last name initial!
One tip with flowers is to not use flowers with an overwhelming scent. When your guests are sitting next to them, you don’t want them to have a powerful scent. Another note with flowers is to not have them too big where they will take up a bunch of space and block the view when they are sitting.
Lanterns
Lanterns have become more and more popular throughout the years. Lanterns give a more classic look. You can find them to match any style, from classic gold to more rustic shabby chic. Some brides put candles in them or some will even put flowers in them as well.
Plus they make great decor for your home after the wedding! I am slightly obsessed with lanterns so I have them all over my living room.
Candles
Candles are a great way to add classic romance to an indoor wedding. They can be grouped together in varying sizes to create more visual interest. If your venue doesn’t allow real candles you might check out the battery operated ones.
Ribbons
Some brides will use ribbons and tie into bows for each of the aisle seats. This way they avoid any of their guests with sensitive allergies to flowers. Some prefer the more classic look and just want something beautiful and simple and using ribbons will help with that. Many ribbons come in lace, so if you are wanting a more rustic but simple look, see if that is an option.
Signs
A new trend that I love is custom signs as ceremony aisle decor! You can include your favorite movie quotes, passages from the Bible, lyrics from songs or even things you’ve written to each other. Another idea would be your vows!
I’ve had brides choose wooden signs for a more rustic look or gold framed ones for a more elegant wedding. Plus you have instant decor for your home when the wedding is over!
Pergola
Most brides will have a pergola or arch at the end of the aisle for the focal point. There are many ways to dress up an arch. Most brides will use ribbons or flowers or both. It depends on what your taste is and what you are planning for the décor in the aisle seats and how it flows together.
Aisle décor should not be an overwhelming task. If you have a color palette and theme you are wanting, aisle décor will be much easier to pick out.
