Two weeks ago I walked around all day with my phone in my hand……. waiting. Waiting for a text message, Facebook update or a phone call on the status of my new niece or nephew. I even took my phone to the bathroom with me so I wouldn’t miss the news!! At 3:52 in the afternoon my new nephew made his way into the world and into the hearts of his anxious family. His arrival marked the end of a very scary pregnancy for my sister in law and all of our prayers were answered to see he was perfect with 10 little fingers and 10 adorable toes!!! David and I hopped in the car a few days later and drove down to Charleston South Carolina to meet him and I was anxious to take some photos! I am the first to admit that I’m not a pro at photographing babies, they never want to sleep for me 🙁 I know that you need to get the baby when they are less then two weeks old and get them drunk on their mom’s milk in a warm place to get that deep sleep where you can pose them and strip them naked to take cute baby photos. Just because I know the formula does not mean it ever works for me! I was hoping with my nephew I could break the streak of crying unhappy babies but on the day we planned to do the shoot he was just like all my other newborns, not happy! So I snapped a few pics and prayed for another chance. Luckily I got a chance the next day and he was a perfect angel for me! I will say that I busted through this session in about 45 min because I was so afraid he would wake up. Also because we were doing the session at the campground we were staying at while my husband was racing we stuck with one location and tried not to move him too much 🙂 I was very happy with our spot though because the light was so pretty and glowy and I loved the background! So I’d like to thank my nephew for giving Aunt Melissa a break and being a perfect newborn and sleeping for me!
