Reunited and It Feels So Good!!!

Yes friends, family and faithful blog readers after 7 months I’m finally reunited with my husband!!!!  There really are not enough exclamation points to show how happy and excited I am.  At times I thought his deployment would never end and it was hard.  I pretty much ran across the terminal and tackled him.  He is so skinny now and looks so young again.  I feel like I’m robbing the cradle 😉

If you are a military spouse or even dating someone in the military you have probably already experienced being separated whether it be for school, deployment or just being stationed in a new area.  David and I knew that he would be gearing up for a deployment way before he ever left.  I knew that I needed to find things to do with myself so I wasn’t sitting at home crying every night, that only works for the first week.  After that you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and drag your butt up off the couch and get out of the house!  That is an order!!!

I was blessed to be part of a fantastic meetup group.  If you’ve never heard of meetup then you need to check it out, www.meetup.com.  There are groups for all kinds of hobbies and interests and just meeting new people to hang out.  I knew I needed to have a good support group so I started attending meetups for my group well before David left.  In fact one night I was attending a Girls Night Out dinner with them while David was home and he teased me about leaving him and I pointed out that in the very near future those girls would be who I turned to when I was feeling lonely!  They have truly been a blessing in my life, through them I’ve made fantastic friends and I’m especially thankful for my friendship with Rebecca.  She is also known as my “adorable assistant” on Facebook!  She has helped me out with the bridal shows I’ve done this year and has been my saving grace.  I definitely could not have done it without her!!

I was lucky to find a great group of girls that are so welcoming to new members and we have so much fun hanging out.  Turns out there are a lot of other girls in my area that were looking for a great group to hang out with and have fun.  So I recommend if you don’t have a support system in place that you get out there and find one.  It isn’t as hard as you think, I promise!  It makes the world of difference when you are alone to have a support system to keep you going.  I also joined a Military Family meetup group and that has been great too, these are women that know exactly what I’m going through.  They’ve done it too or are doing it now.  It is so nice to have someone to talk to that gets it.

I plan to hold on as tight as I can to my husband over the next week and enjoy our time together!  Soon enough he will be home for good and I know our girls can’t wait to see their Daddy again.  I’m looking forward to making dinner together, hanging out on the boat and heading off to the race track again with him.

With this post I have completed my goal of blogging everyday for a month!!!  So I’ll be taking a break for the next week to spend time with my husband!

It is great that you found support but you also had the desire and the willingness to search for that support. Proof that you are quite the accomplished woman. Soon you will be the leader with experience to share. Kudos to you. Plead extend my gratitude to your husband for the sacrifice he made.
