Let me tell you about what will one day become one of your favorite memories. You are sitting on the couch when your 3 year old brings over his favorite book. It’s a big one with a beautiful and more important, durable leather cover. Your favorite baby photo of him from his lifestyle newborn session in on the cover. When he opens it up you tell him the story of the day he was born. He snuggles in beside you as you look through his baby album together and talk about the first time you laid eyes on him.
This may sound like a sappy fairy tale but I can tell you I’ve done exactly this with all of my kiddos over and over again. My boys are 7 & 9 now and they still will grab their baby albums off the bookcase and ask me to sit down and look at the photos together and tell them about their birth day. Those books go right beside our wedding album! If the house were ever on fire they would get grabbed after the kids and pets of course!
I totally understand that baby albums are not cheap but don’t forget that you are buying a book that will be passed down to your grandkids one day. This book is made to last 100+ years! Someday your baby will sit down with their baby and show them what Grandma and Grandpa used to look like before kids aged them lol! I personally cannot get enough of seeing photos of my Gram and Papaw when my parents were kids.
Hopefully I’ve convinced you that you need a baby album full of photos from our lifestyle newborn session! So let’s talk more about these books.
Baby Album Cover Options
As I mentioned above you can get leather covers or linen if you prefer. Our baby albums are linen but sometimes I wish I had opted for the more durable leather since my kids like to look at them so much. Plus there are tons of great color options for leather, you are not stuck with just brown or black. In fact my lab offers pink, blue, gray, cream and more! If you love the luxurious look of linen then you’ll love the choices available! I went with a medium/light blue for Will, light gray for Rob and a gorgeous pink silk dupioni for Grace!
Thick Lay Flat Album Pages
As you snuggle on the couch with your little one flipping through the pages of your baby album you’ll notice how thick the pages are. They are real photographic prints mounted to a thin substrate that means no worries about ripped or bent pages. God forbid you spill something onto the page you can wipe it off without worrying about the paper staining or soaking up the water. Plus since the pages lay flat you can open it up wide on your lap!
Easy Album Design
My gallery software makes this part super easy! As you go through your gallery and mark your favorites it will use those in your album design. Just pop over to the shop tab in the gallery and pick the Lay Flat Album box. Then say yes to it auto-designing your album. You can make changes to swap out photos or even change the layout of a particular spread. It is completely in your control! If you’d prefer I pre-design an album for you just ask I’m happy to do so! This process makes things super easy which I love.
