Snead’s Farm Fredericksburg Family Portraits – This is the session that makes me jealous and want photos like this of MY family! Of course I’m a small portion of this equation and the BH family is responsible for most of the awesomeness :). When I first started talking to Jennifer about a family session she said it had been forever since they had family photos and with two boys she wasn’t sure how things were going to go. I told her not to worry that I would take care of everything and try not to make it too boring for them.
Since we were doing the session around Christmas I thought it would be cute to hit up a Christmas tree farm and decorate a tree as part of our session! It gave the kids something fun and silly to do and let them get used to me and my camera. I loved it, they were all so cute and totally went with my crazy idea!
I sent Jennifer some ideas on what to wear fully expecting that shooting in December meant we would all be in winter coats but we lucked out and it was around 60 degrees. Everyone looked great and I loved Jennifer’s pink hair!
I love sessions like this where we can mix things up between traditional portraits and fun action photos. I especially love focusing on the relationships between everyone from parents and kids to siblings to husband and wife! The littlest little in this session was amazing, like could totally be a child model with all his adorableness! The photos of him and his dad melt my heart and make me really want photos of my husband and our boys just like these!
I have to say the best part of the session was at the end when Dad said “Man this was fun!”, I totally high fived him! Yes if I can make a family session fun even for dad my job is done!
