Who would have thought that building a business and a web site would be similar to planning a wedding! This time last year I was obsessing over the colors for our wedding, which incidentally were pink and brown. To be honest I’ve never been much of a pink girl but suddenly last year I became obsessed with pink. Maybe it is that whole redheads shouldn’t wear pink thing so it is making me want pink more and more. Anyway pink and brown is pretty normal for wedding colors, it didn’t take me long to find lots of stuff with pink and brown.
So when I started designing my website and choosing colors I of course went with pink and brown. As time has gone along you may have noticed that my colors have changed and even my logo design is slightly different. I still haven’t gotten away from pink 😉 but my shade has gotten sassier in my opinion! Recently I had a conversation with a fellow photographer and asked her if my pink, pink, pink website was too girly. Hmm, what do you think her response was? She was very sweet and told me to maybe tone down the cotton candy pink. So last week I went in search of inspiration for colors that were a little more adult and would not scare off my macho male clients. I love google, google rocks, google answers all my questions. I think God is behind google, I mean come on he is supposed to be all knowing and google is all knowing so I believe google is god. And that whole I’m feeling lucky button, that is just God’s sense of humor.
Anyway enough about God and google, I asked and they answered with this great link to a site I was very familiar with in my wedding days, Style Me Pretty! Beware that this site is addictive for brides and no matter how great your wedding is if your flowers, cake, pictures, etc don’t look like those on SMP you will be dissapointed. So that is my warning, don’t look unless you are okay with dissapointment.
My updated color scheme is now Fuchsia pink, dark teal and creamy white with black for text. Thanks to Carrie from Cape Cod on SMP I have found a color scheme that is elegant and sassy in my humble opinion and hopefully will not scare the guys too much. Check out the original item on Style Me Pretty here. Let me know what you think of my new color scheme in the comments below. I’m still working it into everything but I’ve updated enough on my blog that I wanted to tell you why things look a little different.

I love, love, LOVE the teal that you’ve picked! absolutely gorgeous. i’d love to see more of it…possibly as a background. i think it would make the fuschia pop even more than it already does. Something along these lines would be nice and definitely still accent your logo stamp :]
