7Who knew that a blind date would lead a Texas boy to a Virginia girl with a country heart and eventually a Marine Corp Museum & Stevenson Ridge wedding?! If you didn’t know any better you would swear Samantha was born and raised in Texas so it is no wonder Caleb clicked with her right from the start. As they travel the world together I know that she will always keep things a little bit country at home :). Caleb and Samantha are more than just clients to me they are part of my family! Not my blood family but my military family, Caleb is a Marine and Samantha has joined the ranks of military wife. In the time that I’ve spent with them and gotten to know them I can see that Caleb is a lucky man to have such a supportive partner by his side ready to go wherever his career takes them. As a military spouse I’ve been through the ups and downs of deployments and homecomings. I’ve learned a few things along the way that I think Samantha will have no problem accomplishing. First wherever you go make friends, they will be there to keep your mind off missing your Marine. Second write and send packages as often as you can. David and I have a stack of deployment love letters that I hope someday our children and grandchildren will treasure. Third protect your heart. Keep your husband in mind at all times and keep your heart true to him, semper fidelis.
Now let’s talk about the wedding! Samantha and Caleb had their ceremony at the Semper Fidelis Chapel at the National Museum of the Marine Corp and the reception at The Lodge at Stevenson Ridge. Samantha wanted a rustic country look for her wedding, she and Caleb tackled several DIY projects for their decor. They did such a phenomenal job! My favorite is the sign with the states of Texas and Virginia with a heart in between. I plan to order one from Samantha with South Carolina and Virginia for my own bedroom :)! They also made the menu door and I was totally impressed with the lettering on the chalkboard parts, I could never make it that neat.
I had such a fun time photographing Samantha and Caleb’s wedding! It was my first wedding where I had my own place card and table to sit at during the reception. I have so many photos to share, plus check out the awesome slideshow at the end with even more photos. Samantha and Caleb I wish you so much happiness and adventure as you embark on this new journey. Love, laugh and make memories where ever you go!
