The weather outside was threatening all day, we were under a severe thunderstorm warning but that couldn’t wipe the mega-watt smile off Michelle’s face! She has one of those smiles that when you see it you can’t help but smile too, it is infectious! Today was her wedding day and she was marrying the man of her dreams, David. (Ironically those are two names I had no trouble remembering because my sister is named Michelle and my husband is also a David!) I was lucky enough to share in their day as a second shooter for Mike Topham Photography based out of Richmond, Virginia. I have to say I LOVE second shooting for Mike because I get to do what I do best which is capture the details and hang out with the girls! I do miss getting to know the couples before the wedding day but they brides are always so welcoming to me that I feel right at home! Michelle and David had a beautiful church ceremony at Battery Park Christian Church followed by a fabulous reception at Main Street Station. I was so excited to find out it is still a working train station! The architecture and high ceilings had me drooling, the huge glass doors leading out to a balcony gave us amazing natural light!!! Even though I had just met David and Michelle that day I learned so much about them from friends and family. They met because David works with Michelle’s sister and he begged her for an introduction. She finally gave in and set them up but made sure that meeting was under her watchful eye. A big sister has to look out for her little sister, I get that! They hit it off and here we were celebrating the love that blossomed. The necklace Michelle wore was a gift from her Dad to her Mom and she borrowed it for this day, her garter was camouflage print and her shoes were a spunky hot pink!! I had a fantastic time photographing their wedding and sharing the day, my best wishes to you Michelle and David!!!

Thanks Abby! Her necklace was borrowed from her mom, it was a gift from her Dad so it had a lot of meaning!
