Today’s couple deserves an award for quickest put together wedding I’ve seen! Megan contacted me right before Christmas, she was putting together a wedding in two weeks. Yes that is right two weeks!! As soon as she said her fiance was in the military I totally understood. Being a military wife I understand how plans change and you have to react quickly sometimes. John is an incredibly lucky man to have found Megan, she is amazing in my book! I know that she will be a fantastic military wife, she pulled together the perfect Marine Corp Museum wedding in my book in two weeks. I’m betting she will be able to face any challenge being a military wife throws at her and come through with flying colors!
I’m a hopeless romantic and I love all types of weddings. But as I’ve said before the small ones have a special place in my heart. There is something about a small wedding where you really get down to the basics of what it is all about friends, family and most important love. Pure love that brings two people together to pledge to love each other for better or worse. For John and Megan a love that will bind them together through moves and deployments. They get to fall in love with each other over and over again after being apart.
Megan and John picked the Semper Fidelis Chapel at the National Museum of the Marine Corp for their ceremony. I really love this venue, it is just simple and beautiful! I setup a first look in the garden around the chapel. Megan was stunning with her fur coat over a simple but beautiful dress. John was very handsome in his uniform despite battling the flu all day, poor guy. As their family and closest friends gathered around they were joined as husband and wife. After the ceremony they celebrated with an intimate dinner at The Log Cabin restaurant. Megan is a baker so she and John made their wedding cake! They sent me home with a generous slice to share with David and it was delicious!!!
Megan and John you are about to embark on a wonderful journey! I’m so excited for you both. Military life will have it’s ups and downs but I know you two will make it through together. Enjoy your travels and the experiences you are about to have together!
