Stevenson Ridge Wedding
Excellent you have come to the right place! I have been photographing Virginia Weddings at Stevenson Ridge since they first opened several years ago. I even remember walking through The Lodge before the flooring had been laid :). I have photographed ceremonies on the lawn, receptions in The Lodge and full weddings with getting ready at The Riddick House. So whether you are looking for a spot for just your ceremony or just your reception or you want the full Stevenson Ridge wedding experience the beautiful grounds and historic buildings provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding festivities!
I have picked out a few wedding galleries from over the last 4 years to show you the variety of options Stevenson Ridge provides to brides and grooms. You can see what the grounds look like through the seasons and see what an indoor wedding looks like in their back-up space in case of rain. No worries it is gorgeous!!!
Stevenson Ridge features several options for getting ready before the big day, as you look through the weddings below you can see the different spaces to help make the choice easy for your wedding day! My favorite is for the girls to get ready at The Riddick House, I love the beautiful decorating of that gorgeous historic home! Plus portraits out front always look classic and beautiful. So take a look through these beautiful weddings and get to know more about having a Stevenson Ridge Wedding!
When planning her summer indoor Stevenson Ridge wedding Samantha was inspired by tradition. She wanted “the simple elegance of weddings from years ago, something that in 100 years would still be looked at as classy”. Stevenson Ridge was the perfect mix of historical and modern, with the ceremony taking place in the reclaimed 19th century chapel with it’s exposed post and beam frame and 25′ cathedral ceilings. Samantha made her entrance on the arm of her dad through 10′ antique doors once owned by Ulysses S. Grant. Her florist Amanda Veronee (also the bride’s sister and MOH) created a gorgeous floral backdrop to say their vows against and filled the room with hundreds of candles for a warm and soft romantic glow.
She wanted rustic elegance for the overall style of her wedding, with small pops of the unexpected to showcase her personality. Caitlin & TJ pulled off something I’ve never seen in wedding decor, leopard print! The small pop of the leopard print napkins screamed Caitlin in a subtle elegant way. I loved that the girls got ready at the historic Riddick House, such a beautiful backdrop for photos. Plus all my favorite vendors were there to create an amazing wedding for Caitlin & TJ!
A summer thunderstorm combined with 100 degree heat forced this wedding indoors but I don’t think it could have been any more beautiful! The Lodge at Stevenson Ridge features reclaimed wood beams from an 1800’s church and I had been dying to shoot a wedding inside ever since I had my first tour! This is the wedding that had me sobbing behind my camera to the point the DJ asked if I was ok because it was so sweet! (Pregnancy hormones may have helped ;))
She loves anything rustic country and took inspiration from her home decor style when planning her wedding. Samantha is my DIY extraordinaire bride! She made so many awesome things for her wedding that I even commissioned a state love canvas from her for our bedroom! Samantha & Caleb partied the night away with friends and family at The Lodge at Stevenson Ridge, the perfect location for a rustic country reception!
Ally’s favorite wedding day detail was her flowers and they did not disappoint! Amanda Veronee created a stunning arrangement on the ceremony pergola for Ally and Vitaly and it was one of the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen. You will definitely think more about your ceremony space flowers when you see these and remember there are a lot of photos taken at your ceremony so a large floral arrangement can make a big impact!
So this wedding holds a special place in my heart as the beautiful bride you see there is my baby sister Michelle! Yes I photographed my sister’s wedding and she is lucky because she has some beautiful wedding photos, lol! Michelle & Chris chose Stevenson Ridge to host their fall outdoor wedding ceremony and it was perfect. Armed with the most stunning bouquet by Amanda Veronee and dress from Ava Laurenne you can’t go wrong!
When she visited Stevenson Ridge’s Lodge for the first time, she knew she chose the right place. It was open, airy, rustic but elegant feeling. Melissa & Jon hosted their wedding reception at The Lodge at Stevenson Ridge and what a beautiful day it was! I remember looking up at the sky on our way to Stevenson Ridge and seeing the clouds part and the blue sky come through as the sun finally graced us. It was perfect timing for us to take beautiful wedding portraits on the grounds of Stevenson Ridge!
Jolie & Greg hosted a wonderfully intimate wedding at Stevenson Ridge. I loved the family style catering Caroline Street Catering provided and laughed as Jolie sat with us to eat dinner for part of the reception chatting about the day. Jolie & Greg asked a good friend of theirs to perform the ceremony for them which I thought was such a special touch. Jolie is also a girl after my own heart with a love for The Princess Bride, they even had a hammered dulcimer playing StoryBook Love as she walked down the aisle to Greg!
