I am a terrible blogger
I have so many things going on in the background right now that my poor blog and website have been neglected. I have been busy shooting weddings, putting albums together and avoiding my Drawing 1 homework like the plague. My to do list is a mile long and I’m even considering outsourcing some of my post work to free up my time. I have so many photos to blog about and I just can’t seem to find the time to do it. I am so envious of the other bloggers I follow and how great they are about posting almost every day.
So to make up for my lack of being a blogger extraordinaire I’m going to list some of the awesome blogs I love to follow!!! Hopefully you will start to follow them also and won’t notice how much of a slacker I am
Young House Love- I love this blog, one of my favorites. This is by the cutest couple down in Richmond and it is all about how they are making over their first house. I’ve stolen been inspired so many of their decorating ideas for my own house. Our master bedroom is up next and I’m thinking about springing for a mood board from them!!
Audrey Woulard Photography- I met Audrey at Learnfest in May and she is so awesome. I would love to attend one of her Chicago workshops in the future. Her photographs are just beautiful!
E Online Watch With Kristin- I’m a recovering TV junkie, so instead of spending my nights watching my favorite shows I read up on all the spoilers and gossip ahead of time. Those shows I can’t live without I Tivo and watch while I vacuum and clean the house.
Jasmine Star and Jessica Claire- Both are amazing wedding photographers and I love their photographs. I have devoured their blogs and I love Jasmine’s FAQ posts! Her post on formals was great and really showed how to mix things up. She has even inspired me with an idea for a formal portrait of my husband and I this weekend before we head off to the Marine Corp Ball. I can’t figure out how to describe it exactly but I’ve got a picture in my head of how I want it to look!! Jessica Claire has the most beautiful artistic photographs, I love how she uses lens flare in her images. Lens flare is usually a big no no but if you know what you are doing like she does it becomes a yes yes. I’m currently trying to learn how to do it best.
Jose Villa- Who do wedding photographers trust to shoot their own wedding? That would be Jose Villa! He recently photographed Jessica Claire’s wedding and it was breathtaking. I really really really want to attend one of his workshops but sadly he isn’t doing any in 2010. Hopefully he will do one in 2011 and I can be there for it. His images are just gorgeous!
MCP Actions - I’ve taken a couple of Jodi’s online classes and I highly recommend them. I use several of her actions religously because it saves me time. I love actions, I love to play around with an image and then tweak it till it is perfect. Her blueprints are awesome to show you how to best use her actions to enhance or sometimes save an image you love.
DesignAglow - I have spent so much money at this store it is crazy. I love all of their products and whenever I treat myself this is where I go for a new toy. They have everything from album designs, borders and frames to awe inspiring magazines packed with great information and interviews with photographers across the county. Their current issue the Innovation issue is on my wish list as my next treat to myself!
Melissa Jill- This was the first photography blog I stumbled across when I made the switch to portraits from landscape and architecture. Melissa shares so much information about her business through her FAQ pages. I am waiting for her to announce 2010 workshop dates because I’ve decided that hers is the first on my list. I love how she embraces her faith and is walking the path that God laid out for her. I believe that someday God will give me the push to move to full time and follow his path. For now he has other things he wants me to work on One other thing I love about Melissa is that each time I’ve posted a comment on one of her posts she has followed up with an email to thank me for it and encourage me. How awesome is that?!?!?! She is truly an inspiration and my favorite photographer and blogger.
So those are just some of the blogs I follow. Right now my Google Reader is telling me I have 591 new posts from all my blogs that I have not read yet. I can pretty much bet that none of the blogs listed above are on that unread list because I read them as soon as they come in. So check them out and you will probably become addicted just like me
